Amidst hardship and unpleasantness
With faint appearance of gladness
That fades the dream of greatness
Yet there grows a tree of sweetness
Whose fruit will end bitterness
If we embrace not hopelessness
Life is in seasons. There is a time for plenty, and a time for famine. There is a time to be happy, and a time to be sad. This is one of the dynamisms of life that we must learn to understand and live with.We mustn’t stop moving nor frustrate ourselves.
The right attitude we must have is to keep our hope alive. Desmond Tutu said, ‘Hope is being able to see that there is light despite all of the darkness.’
The time of abundance will soon come, but we must learn to maximize the little we have in this season. The harvest of the rainy season is enough to survive through the dry season, if only we learn to maximize what we have.
Do away with excesses. Go for necessities. You can’t please everyone, don’t run into debt trying to please people.
Lack befriends idleness, get engaged. What your hands can do, do it. Be optimistic. Don’t focus on the challenges around, focus on your dreams and pursuits. No matter how things stack up, it is not bigger than you or your dreams. See better days ahead, and you will start enjoying good days now.
Stay alive; keep your hope alive; better days are ahead!
